The Here and Now
The Singh Twins have under their belt several international exhibitions. The most recent of these is a retrospective at the Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives in Canada, which is part of the country’s Sikh Heritage Month programmes. Their work has also been displayed at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in New Delhi, the first British artists to have been accorded that privilege since Henry Moore, and also at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Where art is, fashion cannot be far behind. The work of the Singh Twins inspired the Spring/Summer collection of Indian ace fashion designer, Tarun Tahiliani. They are making a foray into designing a line of high-end home furnishings and fashion accessories. The Singh Twins have also been featured on The Face of Britain, a BBC TV that provides an in-depth look at the history of British portraiture.
The contribution of the Singh Twins to the world of art and history received the most coveted stamp of approval when they were awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire).
